Central Washington School of Dental Assisting (CWSDA) is North Central Washington’s vocational dental assistant training program and was established in 2012 to provide an affordable vocational education for those individuals wishing to pursue a successful career as a dental assistant.
OUR GOAL is to provide each student with the fundamental professional skills necessary to seek employment within the Dental profession. Our highly trained and experienced professional staff will guide you step by step, with leading edge technology, as you prepare to enter the exciting field of dentistry. The small class size and a hands-on curriculum teaches beyond the fundamental skills to provide you with a competitive edge for employment in today’s challenging economy.
CWSDA offers individuals of diverse backgrounds and age groups wishing to begin a career or make a career change to fill a rapidly growing need for well-trained entry-level dental assistants. Interested applicants include High School/GED graduates, displaced employees from other careers and those simply wishing to make a career change or start a career.

Central Washington School of Dental Assisting (CWSDA) Training Program prepares students for entry level employment within the Dental Industry. Students are taught general chair-side dental assisting with hands on experience, one-on-one instruction, and coursework in
Preparation of the patient for treatment
Digital X-ray examinations
The education of patients in proper oral health care
Preparation of materials for making impressions and restorations
Exposing of radiographs and processing digital X-ray film as directed by the dentist
In addition, students will receive an introduction to orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, general anesthesia and sedation techniques. At the end of training, the student will have completed training for and receive the AIDS/HIV certificate, CPR and bloodborne pathogens certification and Washington State Dental Assistant Registration.

CWSDA provides classes on eleven consecutive Saturdays, allowing you more flexibility for your other commitments. For those individuals desiring to make a career change, the CWSDA’s Saturday program enables students to work around their usual Monday to Friday work-week.
Located in North Central Washington, CWSDA offers a beautiful facility easily accessible by car, train or bus. The Wenatchee facility is located in a safe, well lit neighborhood with many restaurants within walking distance. The surrounding area is a sport enthusiast’s Mecca, offering both winter and summer recreation for all interests and comfortable, affordable lodging abounds.
CWSDA provides a single tuition fee exclusive of any hidden fees. It covers everything you will need for class. The quality of instruction in lecture, materials and hands-on participation offers you, the student, a complete learning experience.
Our instructors provide over 50 years of combined experiences and education in all disciplines of dentistry, X-ray techniques, OSHA and HIPAA practices and staff training, in addition to their many other assistant skills and proficiencies. By utilizing their resources, our instructors deliver a quality education and an outstanding hands-on experience for our students.
Students will become confident with chair-side dental assisting techniques. They will earn their CPR Certificate and Bloodborne Pathogens, and their Washington State Dental Assistant Registration, in addition to acquiring essential job seeking skills. Your hands on training will allow an office to expidite your training into their team.
According to the 2012 Occupational Outlook Handbook, Dental Assistants are expected to be among the fastest growing occupation over the2012 to 2022 projection period, with a 25 percent increase. Which is much faster than the average for all occupations. Population growth, a greater retention of natural teeth by middle-aged and older people, and an increased focus on preventative dental care for younger generations will fuel demand for dental services.
